As the creative director and lead UX designer on this project, I helped guide a complete website overhaul for Monico Monitoring, a trusted provider of industrial communication gateways and remote condition monitoring solutions. The company was evolving rapidly—from a focus on rugged hardware to a sophisticated offering that blended edge devices with advanced data analytics. But their existing website hadn’t kept up.
My role was to reposition Monico as a forward-thinking leader in machine intelligence by developing a modern, user-focused digital experience grounded in strategy, usability, and clarity.
My Role
I was responsible for:
- Creative Direction: Set the visual tone and oversaw overall design direction
- UX Strategy & Design: Led architecture, audience pathways, and wireframes
- Content Strategy: Collaborated on content planning and created user-focused page structures
- Visual Design: Delivered custom graphics and visual systems that explain complex solutions clearly
- CMS Transition Strategy: Created a scalable, modular approach for the team moving from Joomla to WordPress
The Challenge
Monico’s website had become a constraint—built on Joomla, pieced together over a decade, and no longer representing the company’s direction or depth.
It lacked:
- Clear positioning around their shift from hardware to real-time analytics and data platforms
- Content pathways tailored to different audiences (from C-suite to engineers)
- Mobile responsiveness and backend flexibility
- Lead gen tools to track marketing effectiveness or conversions
The site wasn’t just outdated—it was holding them back from scaling and being seen as a high-tech innovator in industrial monitoring.

The Solution
A Website That Reflects Monico’s Shift to Smart Data & Analytics
I led the strategy and design of a modern website that did three things:
- Laid the foundation for scalable lead generation and digital marketing
- Clearly explained complex technical offerings
- Guided distinct audiences along relevant solution paths

Audience-Based UX Structure
Reorganized navigation and page architecture around the real needs of their audience segments—from reliability engineers looking for device specs, to IT leaders interested in integration and data security.
Visual Design System
Designed a clean, modern interface that still honored the industrial roots of the brand. Custom graphics helped demystify technical concepts like protocol translation, edge computing, and the mCoreSDR product line.
Content Patterns & Flexibility
Developed flexible page templates and reusable design modules using WordPress block editor to empower internal teams to easily update content.

- The results were immediate and measurable:
- +73% increase in overall traffic YoY (just one month post-launch)
- +119% increase in session duration YoY
- +85% growth in organic sessions MoM
- Improved lead attribution and tracking via HubSpot
- Greater clarity around Monico’s value proposition across audiences
- Simplified content management for internal teams
- Internally, the Monico team could now manage and scale their content without relying on developers. Externally, the brand was better aligned with the advanced, data-centric nature of their modern offering.

What Made This Project Special
This project highlights how thoughtful UX and brand-aligned design can transform a website from a static catalog into a lead-generating platform that drives business growth. I’m especially proud of how we honored Monico’s history in rugged industrial environments while elevating their brand into a high-tech, forward-thinking space.
